No doubt it is but the trade off of having to live in Baton Rouge isn't worth it.

this thing has some legs!

good job Cajun fans!

.....LSU is better than ULL hands down. Like death and taxes. Just get over it. It will always be this way.

I am not saying ULL is a shitty school, so calm down. All BS aside, outside of LSU, there is no public university in the state I'd rather go to (my earlier La Tech statement was just a jab).

It's really unfair to compare the two. It's more appropriate to compare ULL vs LaTech.

Just from the guys in my fraternity there's guys that work at all Big 4 accounting firms, Goldman Sachs, Under Armour, and more. They got all of those jobs from on campus events. Same for College of Engineering. Exon, Chevron, Ga Pacific, etc. is always there.

LSU career services is much better than ULL's, but that's all regional recruitment. Nothing to see here. EY in Nola is not the same as EY in NYC or Chicago. Same for the process industry. Exxon is recruiting process engineers for the refinery; not c-suite hopefuls. If that refinery were in Lafayette then they would recruit ULL. Neither school is of enough renown to be a national recruiting destination.

Can you get an engineering degree at LaTech? Or nursing? I'm sure the other departments/colleges that make up LSU are hands down better than ULL though. The piece of paper you get at LSU vs ULL means and is worth the same thing in the engineering department. However, the real difference comes with recruiting/help with job placement and LSU is way better in that aspect. For most people, paying a little more money is worth it to help you land that job because not everyone can graduate at the top of their class. For those of us who weren't C's get degrees types, it didn't make a difference which school you chose. If I was an average student, I probably would have wanted to transfer to LSU.

Again, just from my fraternity, we have Houston, Dallas, NYC, Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, and more. And I was in a "party fraternity." I'm not arguing that LSU is the Wharton School, but it places students that make an effort in some pretty good places. Just for the context of the arguement, unequivocally better than ULL or any other public school in the state.

But he has three degrees, and some or all of them are from LSU, so he said it better.

They should close ULL and transfer the money to Monroe. At least they have a pharmacy school.

All ULL produces is frat strap wearing douchebags.

lol. I'm guessing you're still in school and in a frat?

Here's a secret that the Fraternities don't want you to know...

Being in a frat won't get you a job.

You're welcome

No.

That's not what I said stupid. I used it to quantify how many people I am talking about. Out of the 100 or so guys in my fraternity let's say 40% were business majors. So out of those 40 guys, almost half of them are working for some of the world's biggest and best corporations. I even explicitly said it was from on campus recruiting events, and never mentioned that the fraternity helped with that.

I swear to God some of you stupid frickers can't read. You see one buzz word that you don't like and you go off on a tangent that has absolutely zero to do with what I said.

I went to both and it was painfully obvious

My wife did the same and feels the opposite. Overall LSU is a better school, but there are definitely programs where ULL is above LSU. Hell, neither of my degrees are even offered at LSU.

It's like comparing a GMC to a Chevy. The GMC has a few more bells and whistles, and each has some of it's ones features that are better than the other. Overall the one is a little nicer in a lot of aspects than the other, but in the end you pretty much have the same thing that will get you to the same place down the road.

LaTech is known for its engineering school, their graduates are actively recruited by large corporations outside of Louisiana. I would know since I did a lot of recruiting their, never set foot on the ULL or LSU campus to recruit. It was not a factor of what school was better, we found a couple of Tech graduates that worked out well, and they recommended others, after a while we had a constant supply of graduates that fit our needs, and there was no point in going anywhere to any other school in the state.

That ULL-L is a cesspoll of sawed off delusional retards with horrible genetics. And that the institution itself is an embarrassing shite stain on the rest of the state of Louisiana and the society as a whole would benefit from it being destroyed by a hydrogen bomb. Same as all the other outcomes of this pointless debate.
