Although I know better. I like to pretend that the guys up front are focused on flying the plane and not their phones.

What would you like us to do for 5.5 hours late at night? This is the type of stuff that keeps us awake.

That one I am 99% sure is Boston. Awesome pics.

One of them is Boston and one of them is DC. I get them mixed up.

Chicago? On second look, Cleveland, with Detroit in background. Taken from east of Cleveland.

Good eye! Cleveland.

This was a bird strike I had in June going into Charlotte. That’s what a turkey buzzard can do at 180 knots. Even damaged the radar inside the nose cone.

I was reaching for the gear handle to lower the landing gear and saw a black blur and BAM! Loud bang, really didn’t feel it but heard it. I knew immediately what is was because those idiot birds are always just circling at a couple of thousand feet right in the approach path at many airports.

It must have vaporized his arse, because we saw no feathers and there was only a few splatters of blood on the wind shield. We were at 2,000’ and 180 knots (207 mph).

Great pics!

I fly a lot and love to look down on cities especially at night. I fly a lot to Southeast Asia from Abu Dhabi for the past 20 years to Bangkok (65 times), AD to Jakarta and Bali (38 times), and AD to Kuala Lumpur (10 times), and that is minus 2 years not going due to Covid.

I have seen some beautiful skies, clouds, mountains, oceans and the craziest terrain over Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Hungary

Yeah, I imagine the Himalayas are quite impressive from the air.

I got a good look at all of southern Greenland once on a flight as a passenger from Moscow to Houston. What an incredibly inhospitable terrain it is. Nothing but huge crevasses and glaciers. Would be impossible to travel on foot.

There is this mode on our phones that you’re supposed to use. For the life of me, I can’t think of the name. Maybe one of these airplane guys will know.
