That shouldn't happen.
Is it really so hard to shut up and pay attention in class?
The high school-ization of college sucks.

We have too many colleges.
You won't here me argue that it was a bad decision to open some of our colleges in the first place. Unfortunately creation of colleges isn't a time reversible process. There are cases where it did not make sense to open the college in the first place, but it also would not make sense to close it now that it has been open.

HB1 increases State General Fund appropriations for higher education by $125.3M,
That ain't shxt. Funding is nowhere near per capita inflation adjusted pre-Jindal levels.

quote:What is this babbling about? There is a chasm between taking only the best academic performers with no ability to pay versus taking low performers with no ability to pay based on quotas or fairness or diversity.
If you want the selection of students to be based solely on ability, you would support tuition and fee free public universities. Do you?

quote:Teachers have been saying this for years. I taught from 2012 to 2018 and quit. A lot of the kids I taught are in college now.
My wife (no pics) is a High School teacher and has been for almost 15 years and she says every year the kids get worse and worse...
Everytime it's brought up we are usually gaslit into thinking it's our fault, accused of an "ism" by parents, or were called liberals by conservatives and boomers. Administrators have been kicking the can down the road for years.
It's not politically expedient to hold parents accountable just like it's not for women, single moms, or minorities. You will either lose votes or be called sexist or racist.

LSU academically has really fallen behind over the last 15 years. The school needs to reinstate entrance standards.
