Liveleak comments are pretty wild

I find your level of ignorance comical. My buddy has a 120 lb pitbull. He looks scary as hell but he is one of the nicest dogs i've met. My other friend's daughter rides around on him like a horse and he doesnt care in the slightest. This must be hard for you to understand, but like humans, dogs learn much of their behavior when they are young and their personalities when they are older hinge on early positive, negative, or lack of human interaction. Say you have a group of puppies that everyone loves like Golden Retrievers. Well if these puppies grow up while being physically abused or they grow up with no human interaction, they will probably not act like the friendly, every day pet golden retrievers. They will probably act like wild dogs who are territorial aggressive towards other dogs and even people. So why dont you open your eyes a little bit before spouting your ignorant opinions on the internet.

There's one thing about pits that is a fact, they are tenacious. No matter what they do, they always give 100% and wont give up. When they were farm dogs, it was a highly desirable trait. Unfortunately, pieces of shite turned them into fighting dogs or (even worse) guard dogs for that reason.
The biggest negative aspect with them is animal aggression. I have an American Staffordshire Terrier, and did a ton of research before adopting her. And because of the AA, I started bringing her to dog parks at 3 months. I saw her get her arse kicked a lot by alpha dogs at those parks. But like I'd hoped, she sees all other dogs as friends, and is beta as hell and cowers when other dogs try to start a fight.
I really like the breeds personality, and have no regrets. But it really takes a strong owner and lots of socialization if you want them to get along with other animals.

Show me all the stories about golden retrievers who grew up abused that fricking ate babies.and I'm the ignorant one.

You've already proven yourself to be ignorant along with the 6 other people that downvoted my post. I couldnt show you anything that would change your mind at this point. But i can tell you this, if you were to receive a 2 month old pitbull today and you raised him correctly you wouldnt have any problems with him attacking people or other dogs, unprovoked. He would turn out to be a good pet.

Because I despise Pittbulls and find it comical that anyone could defend the breed that's why.
That's all fine and well but how did you come to this conclusion? It's not really all that different from saying you don't like assault weapons because they kill a lot of people, but you have never actually been shot by one and you rely on someone you have never met to make the identification.
Dogs are one of those weird things that invoke some stupid emotional response. It's weird to me that a grown man would be so against a breed of dog.

It looks like the dog that was biting was on a leash, until it broke. The dog that got bitten was running loose (by the sounds of it in its yard). They were telling the other owners that they knew they had a dog and they should walk around. If this is the case, the owners of the bitten down need to have their dog contained and this likely doesn't happen. If the owner of the bitter was walking the dog on it's leash he could have probably prevented the dog from getting to the other dog.
I've seen a roaming pit go into a mans yard and attack his lab, which was chained. The poor lab stood no chance. Owner of the lab was beating the shite out of the pit with a shovel, but it didn't even phase the dog.

Way to not read the thread.

I don't down vote, so not me but I'll respond to this. You need to dig just a little deeper. The problem is, provoked or unprovoked, the potential to kill is there, and given the right set of circumstances, so is the propensity. This cannot be said for most of the other breeds.
The best dog I ever had was a brindle pit I got when he was 7 weeks old. He was a loyal, almost constant companion for our entire family, including my sons, who were toddlers at the time. He was incredibly smart, understood every word I said to him, and could be controlled with a single word from me. He was leash trained to the point that I no longer needed a leash. I could put him through his paces with only hand signals. If you ever intended harm to my family, you would have first had to kill him.
While I was at work one day, a thief climbed my fence to break into my shop. The dog was sleeping on the front side of the shop and was not noticed. The shop had one door in, one door out. When the thief woke him up rummaging in my shop, he was screwed. My dog removed two of his fingers before he got away. I had to fight the city to keep him from being euthanized then. He was doing his job.
But a thinking person realizes that a kid could climb that fence. Something completely innocent could happen that flips the switch for him, and without myself or my family to command him, he was nothing short of a weapon, set on kill. If you can't admit that the potential for disaster exists in this breed, you are not being honest with others, or yourself.
I cried like a pussy when I had him put down, but it was the right thing to do. I didn't get another dog for 12 years, and the new one isn't fit to wear my pit's collar, but it was still the right thing to do.
TL/DR I know.

Legitimate question, how did you decide it was a pitbull? Or are we lumping a bunch of dogs in to a single category?
I'm just curious as to what makes anyone other than a veterinarian qualified to make the identification. I suppose we could rely on the news media to tell us, right?

I get it. People are scared of pit bulls, but there are way too damn many people suffering from confirmation bias needing to feel good about being 'right.' What's not surprising about the OP is that those people, judging by looks and actions alone, would raise bad dogs of any breed. American pit bull terriers are proven to be at the bottom of dog breeds when compared by aggressive behavior. But no one wants to talk about that. It's the dogs' faults because that's the easier thing to believe.

First, I gave him a steak.
Then, I shot him in the face.

Breaks the leash and then slowly walks back to the drivers side, and drops the leash and leaves. Was classic
