The road they were on runs along the lake. At some points it’s directly adjacent, others it’s a few hundred yards.

Was the Dad running the video? If not, Junior needs to put down the cell phone and drive.
Better move is to drive the car into the lake where the roof is exposed and can serve as a platform to get out of the water.
