the conclusion of the report was pretty clear in that first generation immigrant labor pays into the system more than they ever take out
Youre such a moron.
The subject is wages, not consumption and taxes.
Low wage, unskilled immigrants put downward pressure on low wages.

Cool, tell me what happened to Team Bondi, Silicon Knights, Fireforge, 38 Studios, or BioWare Montreal?
The latter is a perfect illustration. A widely loved franchise that was a huge hit for the parent company, EA, and the studio/company that made one of the games releases a buggy, mess of a shitshow and the game tanked and that studio/company was dissolved.
Or how about another EA example? Danger Close Games released a shitty, buggy, Medal of Honor game and not only helped kill off the franchise, but doom their studio and tank EA profits.
Good bug testing is vital to a game. And in an industry with enormous budgets and where only 1 or a handful of titles a decade need to sustain the fiscal health of the business, one frick up can and does destroy studios/companies
It’s also just incredibly ironic all the so-called nativist anti-globalist anti-immigration hawks coming to the defense of a company off-shoring American jobs

CBO report deals with "immigrants" and the "foreign-born." Surely I don't need to make the distinction here between the category of "immigrants"
It talks about both, and speaks to both separately and together at points
quote:
They included naturalized citizens, lawful permanent residents (who are also known as green-card holders), refugees, people who were granted asylum, and people who were temporarily admitted for a specific purpose, such as extended work or study. (The people accounted for in this document do not include visitors for business or pleasure.) The remaining one-quarter, or about 11 million people, were here illegally, having either remained here when their temporary legal status expired or crossed the border illegally.
quote:
A change in the legal immigration status of people who are already in the United States would affect their wages and productivity. People with legal immigration status are usually authorized to work; so are recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). People without legal immigration status are usually not authorized to work (although many work regardless). And if people were to acquire legal status, they would be better positioned to ask for more compensation and become likelier to be employed in jobs that best matched their skills, increasing their wages and productivity.
I’m sorry your alls reading comprehension is truly this fricking terrible

Maybe the chemo is getting too much to your dying brain Ricky, but that conversation was with Morgus in response to his assertion that illegal immigrants are net drains on entitlements, the research and numbers don’t seem to really support that over the long term. In the short term they pay and take nothing out, in the medium term their offspring do use more resources slightly, and in the long term they make up the difference because they have higher wage and educational attainment and that leads to a net pay in.

Youre just dumb.
You purchase labor at 100k a year or 50k, all else equal?

Oh but there can be. It simply depends on which point they're trying to make. Obviously if focusing on economic contribution they will slyly subsume the set of "non-citizens" into the set of "immigrants." The problem here isn't simply that the latter is larger than the former but rather that the instruments they use to gauge this impact are necessarily skewed in favor of a smaller subset who earn more as they are engaged in the system in a way that is far more likely to be captured by these instruments.
But when talking about benefits received from government, they are more than happy to restrict their analysis to"non-citizens" while still ignoring the secondary avenues they pursue to receive them.

He's just trying to obfuscate. When discussing labor theres really nothing to include regarding "financial contribution"
He's under some delusion that employers aren't making decisions to hire cheaper labor.

Seriously, pause, learn to read, come back to this conversation when those items have been completed.
Absolutely no one is saying that employers aren’t trying to minimize labor costs. That’s literally been our whole fricking conversation Ricky. You have just taken the enviable position of wanting to lick their boots as they do it. Whereas I’m pointing out that your model of economic policy, the one that is all for maximizing the employer’s legal domination over labor, off-shoring jobs, cutting domestic labor protections to the bone, exploiting imbalanced trade relations, and cheering on the suffering and low pay of the lowest level workers is paradoxically creating the conditions for a lot more of those government mooches you also claim to hate.
And illegals ain’t the panacea solution you think it is…and you admitting that companies will do all these other things that keep wages low and workers scared of asking for better pay is you proving my own point for me.

Imagine being you, and having to wait for the gubment or collective bargaining to increase my standard of living
Wrong, youre just stupid and whiny. I have no bias for employers. Youre just too stupid to realize personal value is how you increase your quality of life.
Do you know how to maximize your potential? YOu sure as frick dont do it in a labor union. Do you know why? Because there are billions of poor people out there who can do unskilled labor much cheaper.

My nut swinger couldn’t differentiate between a trade union and an unskilled labor union.
Bronc, how well did the UAW protect the people in Detroit, Dayton, and Toledo?

The soy boys don't know the difference, their familiarity with "mens work" is academic.
Trade unions are still very viable, and I would recommend to anyone. You get paid for 4 years while learning, etc..
Unskilled labor having a union is mind blowing to start with. If anything it keeps them from evolving. "Seniority" would be my personal hell. frick that, I cant work without some merit being involved.

Workers with union representation enjoy a significant pay premium compared to non-union workers. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports non-union workers earn just 85 percent of what unionized workers earn ($1,029/week vs. $1,216/week).
When more workers have unions, wages rise for union and non-union workers. The converse is also true: when union density declines, so do workers' wages. A report by the Economic Policy Institute found the decline in unionization has cost the typical full-time, year-round worker $3,250 in lost earnings per year.

I hope at least as the $12 CNA(who took training) administers that chemo into your body, and is cleaning up your literal shite as your body begins to deteriorate and break down, you let her know about how stupid she/he is, and all about how they need to increase their “personal value” instead of thinking they should be paid better or have greater bargaining protections….

You're kind of getting it! Almost there...
Before the days over you may have learned something, and that is when wages are higher than market value, you lose your job.

You’ve actually regressed, a page ago you seemed to understand basic supply/demand but fried a circuit when a single variable was introduced
Now you are fried on even the basics. Take a lap, tie up some boats, tell your chemo CNA how much she isn’t worth a shite…We’ll try again some other time

I still do, far better than you.
Employers buy more labor at cheaper prices. If you want a living wage, increase your worth.
