Our local school systems are a terrible joke.

Because they are "run" by an elected board that has zero knowledge, training or understanding on what it takes to do the job they're in. Can you think of a more screwy situation than that?

I hope the teacher gets so rich that everyone on the school board has to take a massive pay cut, and the "officer" has to take a Wal Mart security job.

The cop was out of line by asking her to leave while the board was acknowledging her. She was following proper procedure for this forum. However, once he does so, I will stand with this idiot officer and say she should’ve complied, as that too is the correct procedure.

I don't really blame the cop in this one....he is a peon to the board...garuntee he was asked if not almost forced to remove her. If he didn't, he would have likely had some sort of demotion or conduct violation against him because of the power that had some how crept into the pos in charge. The people on the board are the ones out of line. The only thing that fat frick in the middle of that board deserves is a bullet to his head for being such a corrupt POS, or maybe it's the superintendent himself who deserves to go because that guy in the middle was just a lawyer there to do his job. Regardless, really corrupt politicians deserve, not only to be removed from position, but just put down permanently for being such disgraceful wastes of human lives.

Yup. I like Jerome though. He really does care about the kids in that parish.

When I was in sales years ago Jerome was my contact. Seemed like a nice dude.

If anything, the salary was probably already astronomical for the job. Should have been a vote to lower the salary. That draining of the swamp needs to run deeply through the heart of the state politics all the way down to the parish school boards etc.

Wonder how his contract compares to superintendents in similarly populated parishes. That's where her focus should have been instead of class size.

They ended up passing his extension for 3 years and 38k raise according to kadn website. I don’t know if that 38k is over 3 years but either way that seems a bit much

And it seems a car for his use as well according to comments on KATC fb page

A+ in the state that was like 46th out of the nation which is probably 20th in the world. So it's not really a great accomplishment....show me some statistics comparing them to the rest of the country.

Fox 8 in New Orleans just picked up this story. I wonder what their narrative will be when they show it?

Erath, Maurice, and Kaplan carry the weight. Although, Abbeville High had really good scores last year.

All the women are mad because the school system got a bump up in ratings and the superintendent "makes them work". Not kidding, I know teachers at multiple schools and since he took over the whining is nonstop. For fun they ought to ask the teachers if they are so poor where are they sending their kids? Here's a hint: it costs money and it ain't a public school.
The Kaplan contingent, in particular, has cornered the market in ignorance and unruliness.
