Now you're just trolling/shite posting. I'm done engaging you.

Sorry I disagree with you and apply things consistently

I don’t need some unmarried priest or 30 something year old dork with a weird chin facial hair thing going on, both of which give off questionable pedo vibes, to have a relationship with my faith.

You may and that’s ok, the only difference is I’m cool with you doing whatever you need to do to get there, you aren’t.

You can get a lot of upvotes by posting incorrect history, but you probably deep down know why he left the Catholic Church.

There is nothing incorrect in what I said. I have no doubt that Martin Luther started his crusade with nothing but the best intentions. However, in his debates with clergymen - especially at the Diet of Worms in 1521 - you increasingly see a man driven by ego being backed into a corner by Johann Maier von Eck, forcing Luther to invent (and cleverly so) the doctrine of Sola Scriptura to defend his positions.

Luther was indeed correct though. The Church needed reform. It had been mired by corruption. St. Ignatius of Loyola famously would tell bright-eyed young priests to stay away from Rome or else they would become disenchanted by what the Vatican had become. The Council of Trent of the mid-16th century fixed many of the problems Luther had with the Catholic Church.

I guess nothing now because as you said the catholic church has been focused on it for a long time so problem solved. Ignoring the actual abuse going on and portraying this as pay out issue is certainly helping. You work for a cabal of pederasts.

without answering my questions?

How rude.

The Baptist minister that molested my uncle was never arrested, he was moved, and never put in jail. Unfortunate.

Should have been. I’m not sure what’s so hard to understand about that. Neither organized Church does what they should in these situations. You’re the only one that’s delusional about that

Not my favorite pope but not all popes are perfect and they’re not meant to be. All we can do is pray for gods will to be done and hope if he doesn’t make it that someone suitable is picked to succeed him.

Can a Catholic explain why we care so much about what a pope says or does? I don't get it. Don't we all have a direct connection to God?

If we do, I'm pretty sure He isn't listening.

You’re selectively deciding who to believe based on their faith

In many cases, he can, which is the point.

How you can’t disassociate your personal faith from indisputably desirable behavior by some of the richest and most powerful people in the world is fascinating.

1. The pedophilia problem. And it's a big issue that needs to continue to be addressed. And I say this as a cradle Catholic.
Pedos are everywhere, dude. Church my parents brought us to in Kenner (Glendale) when I was an infant had a pedo pastor. Dad had to sit my five year old sister down and ask her about it when he got busted - nothing happened to her thank God.

Pedos get busted nearly every day in this country's public schools but nobody really cares. Some of the weirdos on this board talk about how they wanna frick the female teachers that get busted with minors. It's gross.

I didn’t say it was hard to understand - it’s just not only a Catholic problem. The Catholic Church is not the only one that swept and continues to sweep abuse under the rug. It’s not the only pedophile ring in existence like the media wants you to believe. The Church is just an easy target.
