That argument can be made for every other human-run denomination.

Never said I was perfect, that’s a catholic thing. Go to church a few times a year, confession once a year, get your ashes on Ash Wednesday and ask everyone where they went to high school.

I do like catholic girls aged 19 and above. Something about the way the church raises them makes the screw like minks

present day priests being empowered by apostles.
A biblical basis for the Church’s teaching authority is found in the Great Commission as it was given by Jesus: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations . . . teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:19-20).

This is where catholics lose people. That is a church tradition and not supported by Scripture anywhere.
It's supported in scripture in the above. And yes tradition is part of that too. Jesus started His church by empowering the apostles. The office of priests goes back to the old testament. The early Church was the Catholic Church, well before the Canon was even decided.

First off, you left off the most important part of that scripture, it says All authority has been given to Me (Jesus) in heaven and earth. He was sending all out to spread the gospel. He started there. I see a lot of people talk about John 20: 20-23. This is Jesus’ mentioning of the great commission. In fact, the apostles didn’t receive this gift mentioned in either of these passages until the day of Pentecost which happened 40 days later. This would be hermeneutically correct with the gospel of Matthew (which ironically is the only gospel to mention the church). Jesus was simply pledging to his disciples that the Holy Spirit would in fact be coming. They didn’t know it would only be 40 days. Even Peter (petros meaning small stone btw) exemplifies this verse in his own letter in 1 Peter. The bedrock of the church is……not Peter. Sorry but it’s Jesus

Well, there is only one with 66 books. The others are church tradition. And that's fine.
Such a stupid argument. Literally the entire Bible is “tradition”. Do you think god literally descended 66 books down from heaven?
No, a bunch of dudes got together and decided what was canon and what wasn’t. Luther decided he hated a few of them after he got dunked on regarding purgatory,

Pretty sure it was that pesky “Christ alone” in the solos that he had a major problem with. Don’t think he got dunked on over purgatory
