The authority of the apostles = Bishops with the Pope(Peter) being the head Bishop.

Why is this board so anti-Catholic?

The Deep South has always been this way since it’s heavily Protestant.

Used to be almost as taboo for a Protestant to marry a catholic as it was a white to marry a black persom

So assumed authority from man over generations, not actual authority from God.

Two of us posted John 20:21-23 which clearly states Jesus giving this authority to the apostles.

Also in a related matter, Jesus gives his disciples authority to cast out demons and heal people in Mark 6.

Not needed after the cross. And certainly not anyone other than the actual apostles. Was not handed down from generation to generation like silverware.

I'm thinking a faithful, honorable, and pious man named Trump would make an excellent Pope.

The relationship between the lord and I is just fine, I don’t need prayers from a catholic.

No one is arguing about the apostles. I’m talking about today’s priests.

Today's priests are a direct lineage of The Apostles.

Again, read John 20:21-23

Explain how you’re interpreting this as such?

Prayers sent. This pope has battled the gay catholic mafia and the pedofile issue better than any other pope btw.

According to catholic doctrine, not the Bible. You can reference that verse over and over, it doesn’t mean what you’re inferring

That being said, I disagree with him on so many fronts. I'm under ZERO obligation to follow his beliefs, as they veer away from our teachings.

His main issue is he combines Christian teachings with government policy.

Actions of charity should be from the individual not from the force of the state
