Robert Van Winkle, the former rapper known as Vanilla Ice, quietly accepted a plea agreement this morning that will free him from grand theft charges if he performs 100 hours of community service and pays more than $1,000 in restitution.
Van Winkle’s case was not scheduled for a hearing before Circuit Judge Samantha Schosberg Feuer this morning, but he appeared in court just before noon as prosecutor Lindsey Warner and his attorneys Bradford Cohen and Joe LoRusso announced they’d reached a pre-trial intervention agreement in his case.
Vanilla Ice, right, leaves Palm Beach County court with his attorneys April 2, 2015 after accepting an agreement to perform community service and restitution in his grand theft case. (Lannis Waters / The Palm Beach Post)
He was arrested in February on residential burglary and grand theft charges after authorities in Lantana say he was involved in the theft of furniture, a pool heater, bicycles and other items were taken from a home that is in the process of foreclosure.

Dude does a lot of charity work so that will take care of the 100 hours pretty easily.
Sucks for him. I'm sure it was a sub contractor type that is really the guilty party.

Don't be sure. He did it. Confessed and everything.

Well...when you accept a plea deal you have to admit to doing the crime...whether you really did it or not.

I read last week that he purchased the house in question.

I'm guessing premature (deal may have feel through) removal of a houses contents he was looking to purchase and renovate. I know he is doing a lot of that now.

It was just listed a couple of days ago. $1.6 million, chump change for a true OT Baller.

He's a little teapot, short and stout.

Bangs are hair plugs. It's obvious when you see him in person that most of his balding head is filled with fake hair and coloring. He must be dead set on that New Iberia look.
He actually is a pretty cool down to earth guy tho.

He lives in my subdivision. Renovated the house he's living in and another in the neighborhood for his TV show. Stays pretty quiet.
