Although the vehicle had originally been designed as a stopgap while larger, more advanced tanks were developed, it nonetheless went on to play an important role in the early years of World War II, during the Polish and French campaigns.[2] The Panzer II was the most numerous tank in the German Panzer divisions at the beginning of the war.[3] It was used both in North Africa against the Western Allies and on the Eastern Front against the Soviet Union.

What do you do with these toys? Do you gift them to kids at Christmas?

These are not toys. They’re for display only. A kid would break these in minutes.

I have a model room at my house where I build and display them.

If you look closely, I put this model in the middle of this shelf.

Goddam German compound words.

Here’s a fun one:

“Speed Limit” in German

Geschwindigkeitsbeschränkung

PS: Nice build Vader, as per usual.

How about a pic of the rest of your collection?

I did models as a kid. Would spend days and days building one as soon as I saved enough to buy it.

Would love to start again, but just can't ever seem to find the time.

I enjoy looking through the pics in your threads, please keep them coming.

Not really. And the Germans knew this, thus why they immediately began development of the Pz. III and Pz. IV.

The way it was envisioned was each tank would perform a different task on the battlefield.

Pz. II - Reconnaissance and breakthrough exploitation

Pz. III - Engage and destroy enemy armor

Pz. IV - Support the infantry and destroy enemy fortifications.

Here’s the to-do stash. This is an older pic so many of these models have been built while other kits have been added.

Here’s some pics of my builds…

You and my bro could be friends. He has a shop room filled to the gills with model backlog and not for lack of working on something at all times.

It most definitely couldn't, and DV has it right. In addition, fighting the Char B, T34 and, amazingly, the M3 lee, which all had 75mm+ guns with armor protection that outclassed the German main armament gave rise to upgunning the Pz4 with a long 75mm and using the chassis of the PzII and PzIII to mount an open top 75mm AT gun to fight heavier tanks until industry could catch up. The PzIII chassis was used to make the fully-enclosed Stug III, one of the coolest looking German AFV's, in my opinion.
