Is it possible the teacher just had no idea the working of the Catholic church and thought the kid just smeared some stuff on his forehead?

I think she understood it was something religious based on this

quote:

When he was asked to remove the cross by his teacher, he says he tried to explain its significance. “She took me aside and she said, ‘You have to take it off,’”

and then I think she decided to shield the other students from a religious display rather than protect the one student's freedom of expression.

Confusing times.

Based upon this
quote:

The teacher told McLeod that the cross was inappropriate and forced him to wash it off
I am going to say no she wasn't ignorant of what the ashes meant she was interjecting her own personal beliefs into the situation.

She should have just banged the student imo

Saw the student and his mom on news last night. He's just a little 9 year old boy. Everyone here knows you have to be at least 12 or 13 for it to be OK for a hot female teacher to bang you!!

A Google search shows otherwise.

Teacher was out of line and should be reprimanded. I don't know of any atheists who would think otherwise.

I agree

What’s the teachers name? The 9 year old boys name is plastered all throughout the article but I can’t find her name. That alone is outrageous
