Sometimes when I'm driving down the road and notice a women that's not very attractive I'll give her a honk just to make her day and feel good about herself. I call them honkies.

Yea but in the context Harrison used the word, it can almost be synonyms with "dude." Because it can mean a range of things including bro, friend, a-hole, punk, etc. Both positive and negative.

When she uses it with -er, it is a condescending term about a race of people.

Again, just because some people can't pronounce the word doesn't make it a different word.

And the context of both usages is clear. One is a joke and the other is in spite.

Why do you hate white people? Just show us on the doll where the white person touched you. Was it your father? Perhaps your KKK grandfather? Your white guilt complex is saddening and I want to help you.

was at a gas pump on Millerville a couple of weekends ago. Bunch of jacked up 4x4's with ATV's in the back and trailers with big jacked up UTV's on them. All white guys, cutting up,carrying on. Black dude pulls up with ATV in the back of his truck, gets out then from across the parking lot you hear a white dude yell."This a NiSSer free gas station".

All the white boys started laughing and guess what? Ole boy black dude did as well. They all greeted one another with shoulder bumps, white boy this,Ni$$er that.

Looked to be some good comrade re.

That. And the whole slavery thing.

The word was around well before slavery but thanks for playing. Also did you know blacks sold blacks to the slave ships??? Seems anyone that actually reads can quickly realize the biggest race that's held blacks back and caused them the most pain has been blacks themselves.I know that's not politically correct to say and that it's easier to blame other peoole. Did you realize Chinese slaves built the railroads and towns out west. Why do they never blame the white man? Why don't they want repayments? Why don't they want help on test scores and to be given jobs just because thier skin is yellow? So many things blacks should be looking at themselves instead of blaming and taking handouts.

When people jump right to "blacks sold blacks" as a first response to slavery mentioning, it makes me cringe.

You know, as white people, we can admit that slavery was fricking abhorrent and it won't mean you're taking responsibility for the plight of black America.

You missed the biggest difference. Harrison wasn't using it as a racial slur (obviously). She was. Case closed.

If I heard a white person say "frick that n*gga, bro." I wouldn't care. Now if I heard a white person say "Our WiFi sucks because of all the n*ggers on campus." we have a problem.

The n word is a contextual word. He is a good article on its use [quote]LINK ]

It's profanity and personally dread hearing it in public, especially at work, or from people I am not familiar with or in environments where it will be frown upon.
