You're missing the point. Yeah, it was stupid, racist, and clearly a joke, but why should she get suspended for writing a word that's said thousands of times on campus every day?
because believe it or not, a black guy calling his best friend "his n**ga" isn't the same as a girl blaming n***ers for internet problems. People in here have a hard time grasping this. She got suspended for a racist joke.

This guy gets it.

There's a HUGE difference between someone saying "frick that n*gga, dawg." and "I wish n*ggers would stop slowing down my Internet."

I never said that black people have it easier than white people, they don't because they make it harder on themselves

Not to single out your post but to me there is an inherent flaw in defining things as "black" or "white". For example, at what percentage of being "black" do they "make it harder on themselves?" 51%, 1/4, 1/16? One drop?

So many of these threads fall into the old familiar pattern of "us" and "them". "black" and "white". That just leads to so much generalizations (on behalf of people on from ALL sides of these discussions).

When white boys, even as young as 10 call each other that, you know it's different.

So where do you draw the line on what a student is allowed to say without getting suspended?

Yea, pointing out how any "pro-black" commentary is deemed a "white apologist on behalf of black people" does sound like something a racist white person would do or say, I don't think there's anything illogical about that.

Ok ill bite, us whites have it made. We dont have to even try were all just a bunch of privileged trust fund kids riding around in BMWs right?

This may sum you up as a person and tell your story to a tee but - and im sure this will come as a shock to some - some of us privileged white kids had to actually work hard, do without and bust their white asses to get to where they are. The fact that you or anyone would assume to sum me up as a person based solely on my race proves who the real "white racists" is, being black in America is a disadvantage but not an excuse. No more than someone's parents dying or being orphaned before they had the chance to inherent all this white privilege you seem to know so much about is a disadvantage not an excuse.

Here's a little unfiltered truth for you - life has a way of helping people who help themselves and shitting all over those who refuse to and want things given to them rather than earned by them and it doesnt care a bit what color you are, what bad shite happened to you.

I dont know the school's code of conduct, but given that it happens on campus, I think that makes it a no brainer.

exactly, we should chalk that one up as win, not cry about not being able to use the word.

All of this. It's a double standard but I deal with it. I have no need to say the word. A bunch of old white men are crying because they can't is just funny

NO THATS NOT ENOUGH. I WANNA BE ABLE TO CALL MY WIFE AND KIDS MY N*GGAS!!!

I mean in a way, the use of the word of n**ger in the OP's pic is irrelevant. Are people assuming she wouldn't have been suspended had she written just "black people"? She wasn't suspended just because she wrote the n word. She was suspended for making a racist joke.

Yeah, a joke. But I have a funny feeling this board wouldn't be so quick to play it off as a joke had it been a black girl at Southern blaming white people, or in this instance "crackers", as a a reason for wifi problems.

based on intent, yes this is usually the case, white people use it as a racist term, again usually black people do not, that's not groundbreaking stuff.

It's, if that's the worst double standard white folks will face, then I think we'll be ok.

Didn't realize I was talking to a SJW. No point in continuing this conversation with someone that is so enlightened.

How is it a no brainer? so if I say those fricking Asians ruin the curve on every test. Or those fricking Indian finance/econ teachers suck you can't understand a word they say. Should I be suspended for being racist?

no, but white people certainly don't have to worry about the same discriminations as black people, right?

I grew up with a single parent, a mother who worked in an elementary school cafeteria, you really nailed it.

congrats, plenty of white people do that.

it also has a way of discriminating against people based on their race, wouldn't you agree?

Great. I'm fine with that. The next time ANYONE uses it on campus they should be suspended too.

I wouldn't say in mass because we don't vote in general if we're being completely honest

Just guessing here but im willing to bet - based on your "handle" comment you dont push a lot of buttons under republican candidates? Am I right? And considering the fact that blacks have voted in upwards of 90% for the democratic candidates in every Presidential race in the last 40 years I stand by my "in mass" statement.

And really after branding me as a racists for my handle all you got is that in response to my reply?

You're comparing saying Asians are smart to a blatant racial slur? You may wanna rethink that one.

Also, what did you refer to the Asian and Indian teacher as?

i mean, if you want to. I've been called it before. I personally think it's trashy but more power to you. But something tells me it'd be more of a poking fun at the double standard thing than it is you actually wanting to say it

Why are you even worried about double standards for whites?
