Me & my pawpaw used to take the USA FLAG UP & DOWN right at that spot before the La Quinta even existed; and we would clean it as our first family business was a dry cleaners on the Westbank (but originally in Lakeview & Algiers Point before I was born) He did it for free; he was ex-Navy in WWII and was a boxer on the aircraft carriers 100 years ago, the “TICONDEROGA” they used to have boxing matches on the Navy ships and my pawpaw was one of the boxers. After the war. He came back to NOLA, worked for a dry cleaner owner and then took it over where the man died as there was no heirs.

The La Quinta, Oakwood Mall and the Westbank used to be a very good area and super convenient to downtown etc…

Then the typical democrat bullshite destroyed it. They flooded it with “affordable housing aka free housing and section 8” and it went downhill from there.

The Westbank has this stigma that it’s trash or something whatever, but back in the day, that was the place to move out of the city and have a piece of land, a nice lot. Build a house etc.//

Over time, the democrats took it over for the most part, but it still has some nice spots and I’ve got many roots over there.

I can give a history book of knowledge on this, but the bottom line. The Westbank ain’t what it once was, and that’s the summary of it!

Marshal, Marshall, Martial!

FOX 8 has it right: Marshal with one L for law enforcement like Raylan Givens or Matt Dillon.

Thread title has it wrong, which is common.

Raylan Givens once pointed out that a seizure notice was fake because it spelled marshal with two Ls and, "I'm pretty sure if we'd done it, we'd have spelled our name right."
