I'm surprised Clark County, Nevada is green. That's Las Vegas.

That's exactly why. However, I don't think thats accurate compared to the rest of Acadianna, Calcasieu, EBR, etc.

Excessive drinking is key. There is too much to do in Vegas, plus gambling that keeps the excessive at a minimum. Lots of drinking, but people are not passing out drunk at the tables or in the shows.

wonder what data they base this on? even with Ft. Polk that's a small number of people, you'd think lot of south La Parishes outdrink them

Exactly . . . From my experience no way this is true. Unless over drinking is relative to the parish avg.

Calcasieu is 19.7%%
Orleans is a high 22.06%
EBR claims only 17.62%
Ascension claims 20.01%

State average is 20.02%

If you look at the interactive map, only a few percentage points changes it from yellow to red to purple. Basically anything higher that the state average.

I need to know how these numbers were gathered if St James parish is not in the freaking top 10 percentage wise in Louisiana. The miller lite truck drivers straight tell the you at the store that the only parish they have to supply with more miller lite than st James is Orleans and we are talking about a parish of only like 21,000.

I'm not some teetotaler. I have a drink when out to dinner and socially, will have couple scotch's on the weekend, but don't look down on people that do it every day. Just whatever....

That being said, what the frick are the upper midwest/northern plains people doing? I realize there's not a lot to do for over half the year with their weather, but my God. 25% of them have a problem, I guess, according to this chart?

St. James was below the state average of 20%.
The French Quarter is in Orleans parish, which put them at 22%.
