Fuel Pump, you could change it yourself by taking the bed off, but I think I would let the professionals take care of this one.

Daughters VW did this and was a faulty sensor. It would read -40 or 280 degrees, at air temps. It would easily flood out with those readings. Changed sensor and runs/starts great. Still think your probably dealing with a fuel pump/filter issue.

I see it's a 2002, not sure how many miles u have on it but i'm guessing over 100k ? sounds like to me its the fuel pump. one way u can check is to shoot some ether in the intake throttle body and see if it will start, that will tell you right away if its a fuel related problem.

An engine needs three things to work: spark, compression, and fuel.

No info provided on make and year of truck. If it were a non-EI engine, I'd say check timing and points. Most likely, though, this is a fuel pump/injector issue.

Schmelly you may already know this but if it is the fuel pump please don't buy an aftermarket pump, get the best even though your jaw will hit the ground when u see the price.lol

When cranking, does the motor spin over effortlessly? Like really fast and sounds like it has not compression? Bout the only thing ths will kill those yota motors is a broken timing belt or crankshaft position sensor.

$170 on eBay

ETA: You can get a Bosch one for $67. Not sure why the OE would be better than that.
