On the tornadoes never come through urban areas myth...
I was in Chicago last year when one came right through downtown. Was one of the weirdest things I have ever experienced. They are loud out in the country but amongst the tall buildings and concrete, I thought some sort of plane crash/explosion had happened.

I lived in Dallas in 2000 when a bad storm fricked up Forth Worth. Downtown was fricked. Lucky it happened at night.
That tornado hit 3 places I had lived previously (2 while in college, 1 after). I was having dinner at Cool River (where I worked prior) while my roommate/best friend was working at the Pour House in Sundance Square. It missed her by a block.
Craziest video I ever saw from that one was a recovered security video from the BOH at Reatta... Chef was hurrying the staff into a stairwell and moments after they cleared the kitchen - One of those 200lb metal doors from the walk-in blasted through the line and destroyed EVERYTHING including the camera.

It's an absolute myth that tornadoes don't hit urban areas.
The office building where I used to work in Memphis was partially flattened in the super Tuesday outbreak in 2008. There was a fatality in that storm when the tornado nailed a solar panel manufacturing facility.

That would be cool shite to see. Is it around on the Youtube?
This is worth a look if you've ever been to Forth Worth or want to see what a big arse tornado will do to a sizable downtown skyline. $500m in damage. Wow.
News Clip. That shite WAS HUGE.

I don't think so. I saw a copy of it a friend of mine that did security at Tandy Center showed me.

sounds like you got off cheap.
It's all relative for sure.
We were just "Average Income" educated parents and went strictly by the child support tables.
