Thanks. We don’t mind paying for the food, pedialite, and administering the fluids. Those are small.

Some awesome people from this board literally paid the entire cost of the parvo tests this morning, which was amazing. The local shelter agreed to pay for the fluids (which would have carried the bulk of the price) in exchange for us fostering and doing all we can.

We’ve worked non stop to get this little girl as hydrated as possible. I’ve administered her medication given by the vet. She seems to be doing ok. Pooped today. Diarrhea but no blood, thankfully. We have the space heater on her and a blanket. We just got done administering her fluids and I gave her 3 syringe fulls of pedialite and egg each.

We’ll probably do that concoction again before bed and keep the heater on her all night.

Can't say it enough God bless you for looking after this sweet pup.

And YEAH for the group paying for the fluids -- is it like IV fluids or what?

And I asked about a name and thought it should be OT related. lol someone suggested Sonic.

Yea, fluids. They have me some antibiotics to administer as well.

They told me that if we can keep her alive for the next few days then she could receive further treatment and may have a real shot at living.

OT can name her if they want lol.

Her name should be OT 7.5 if she leaves

Man, I really want that little pup to make it.

This thread is full of both happiness and sadness.

He said he's giving fluids and the pet shelter is paying for those ... I'm assuming they're iv. I'd be freaked out.

Yea, we’re giving her a fluid pouch in her back with it every couple of hours. She yelps a lot but it’s the best way to keep her hydrated.

Also, we’re giving her a lot of pedialite and a raw egg.

Does she take the pedialyte/egg willingly?? And is she still seemingly happy and playful??

eta I'm sorry ... I know you're busy and have school and a family but geeze we're all emotionally tied to you & your pup!

She loves the egg. Laps it up. Takes down the pedialite so so.

Hates the fluids from the IV but it’s gotta be given.

wait what? thread link?

Also, I agree this pup should have an OT related name. She's so precious with those big ol' puppy dog eyes.

Skeet and Geauxx have been posting updates throughout but I talked to both earlier. Their pups are doing well.

4 of the original 9 have had to be put down. Unfortunately, they were too far gone to save.

Awesome. Hope the young pup makes it. She will be a loyal one. We just adopted a whipit/spaniel mix 2 weeks ago from the Lexington Humane Society. We named her Hashbrown.

Skeet said his two are acting fine ... Geaux said hers tested positive for parvo.

That's 3 ... TDclines pup makes 4 ... 4 mercifully put to sleep so that's 8 ... who adopted the last one??
