From what I've read of this thread, this dude has a problem because this girl has a good father who raised her right and treated her and her mother with love and respect and she expects the same from him.

He sounds like a baw who likes to go out and play softball and drink with the boys. Crackin open cold ones instead of being serious about a real life.

It's finding a healthy balance with all this that is necessary.

I completely disagree. I think its ridiculous that OP's lady doesn't think he should lead his life the way he sees fit.

You mean people who haven't been married for decades to the same woman told you what you wanted to hear.

Grow some balls son. That's one of the biggest examples of whining like a pussy I've seen.

"Work these out in an appropriate manner" Really?

You did not put her parents down. You actually complimented them. She does not have the ability to listen to what you are actually saying. She hears what she wants, kind of like Tangerine.

Did you explain that each subsequent time she compares you to her dad will result in her behind being paddled? Another thing to consider is how her mom looks. She will mirror her in 23 years. Some pics of both would be extremely helpful.

Good luck getting back home without getting stabbed.

I was promptly shut down, and told her parents relationship is how she wants hers.

Cut your ties. Your relationship is not her parents' relationship and never will be. You and her are not her mother and father. If she is either too stupid or too immature to realize that every relationship has its own dynamic, and that dynamic should be organic rather than contrived, you're better off without her.

She is delusional or very young, naive about life. She is going to be hurt by life badly. Get out now. Later after she gets her heart broken and realizes no man will commit to her nonsense, then go frick her brains out. Then leave forever. Deep family issues are not your story. She will never change. Residual latent issues will surface is my guess.

I don't understand what the problem is. She is effectively communicating to you what she is looking for in life. If you feel like you are not up to the task of giving that to her then leave.

I mean some people just can't handle it. It's okay to punt. She sounds like she's out of your league anyway.

I didn't read this whole thread, but I will say that having been married for 7 years I know my wife will always feel like her father is the greatest man on earth, I'm fine with that. My mother in law will tell you that my father in law is a great man, but he's nothing compared to her late father. good lord willing I hope my 2 daughters feel that way about me too. I think you gotta let that shite go if you really love her. That's how most women are raised. They are raised to want a husband like their daddies.

Women don't change dumbass, find a woman you can live with. A woman models her relationship off of her parents. She will expect you to act like her dad and she will treat you like she treats her mom.

Oh I get where he's coming from. I wouldn't say she's effectively communicating cause it's causing a problem. SHE needs to decide if he is up to her standards. If he is, then make him the #1 man in her life. If not, she needs to move on.

Correction. She will treat him the way her mom treats her dad, essentially.

I'm still downvoteing you because you did not take the advice of everyone here.

A daddy's girl is not a bad thing.

A girl that compares YOU to her dad is frickED up.

Run. Run. Break up with her. Run. Repeat.

The repeat part in your situation might be the most important.

I've got a feeling you're trying to justify staying.

You want divorce? It WILL come. No matter how many kids y'all have.
