Did the City/Parish Engineers sign off on this design?
the only engineers that review permit dwgs are MEP...this is a structural issue and the design engineers are the ones potentially on the hook...not the city/parish

Hmmmmm, minority owned firms got the hold on this?

With almost everyone having internet access, who needs a library in today’s environment?

The advocate posted a remediation detail of the connection at the column of the can't/backspan, not sure if it was an asi or response to rfi, that showed some weld symbols and I think additional bolts that were missing in the original.

First, where did the advocate get that? 2nd because they werent in the original it could be that they are just trying to get to non over stressed steel. How it apparently failed, it looks as though it was either bad welds, bad steel, or under designed. any of which could be blamed on contractor, manufacturer or engineer. IT is just hard to believe it was under designed who how conservative codes are nowadays along with the extra FOS most engineers put in these designs. Just my take.
Do the downvoters want to rebut me? cowards.
