Not yet because I don't know how long they will need me as an engineer before I go back to the ground as a conductor.. Could be a couple months, could be longer, or could be less... Gonna wait it out..

My brother in law retired from CSX. He had been an engineer for 34 years. He said his biggest problem was idiots who thought he could stop a train on a dime.

The "I can cross the tracks before that train gets here" attitude. Probably a few like that in Texas.

To be fair, plenty of people that work half time away from home see their family the same amount of time, if not more, than a guy who works in town. Hour wise

Because I can make the same if not more as a college grad and don't have any student loans to pay off.. And my family can pack up and come over any time because they are home schooled so it's not that big of a deal that I'm gonna be over hear that long.. And you are close, it's 6
