I hate TV shows expounded on someone's innocence, at least when the show does not present the opposition's positions. It is easy to win a one-sided argument.

I believe the creator of the show said it wasn't his intent for any of this to happen, and he think they are guilty as shite and should rot in prison

Gary Plauche was of age where he could leave. The dude was going straight to prison. Why did he have to murder him? Sometimes justice works in funny ways. I don't see how anyone can be that upset they're getting out after 35 years.

Why? They're both cases where the perp had a reasonable motive to do what they did, yet they plotted it and premeditated it. They both had mitigating and aggravating circumstances to what they did.

this does not, the Menendez punk's motive was pure greed

Two different Menendez documentaries come out within past couple months..... Somehow, someone is masterminding this entire circus in true Hollywood fashion imo.

There's no doubt as to the motive in Plauche

There is very much doubt as to the motive for the Brothers.

No there isn't. Straightforward murder for their parents' money.

I can hardly wait, just another jaw dropper in the list of "I didn't think our society could get any more fricked up..."

Well, yes. That is what I believe.

They have tried to paint the motive as they were in serious danger from tormenters and abusers.

I thought OT'ers want to kill child abusers.

For me it is simple if there was sexual abuse then 30 years is more than enough sentence. If there wasn't then they should serve the full sentence. I am not in a position to take a stand either way because I haven't reviewed the actual evidence. For one I would need to know a lot more about the letter re the abuse and how it was authenticated.

the OT is the Cajun Navy of lynch mobs, ready to tar, feather, draw and quarter on a moment’s notice, we’ll sort out the facts later

I’ve changed my mind. They should remain locked up. For reasons I said already. Releasing them will embolden crazy kids of today to just kill their parents and make an excuse. They should have acted like adults, used their money and had charges pressed against their parents.

Sucks that they were abused, but does that make blasting your parents domes off with a shotgun less than 1st degree murder?
Gary Plauche is a folk hero on this board, and rightfully so, IMO. Every thread about child molestors is filled graphic calls to violence against the perpetrator, but the victims themselves (you made a blanket response encompassing anyone that kills their parental abusers) are not afforded the right to take up arms on their own behalf?

We are either a country of laws, or we are not.

Simple. Or at least it should be.

If someone wants to exercise their own personal version of justice they can, but the should then face the justice of ignoring and breaking the law.

Personal feeling shouldn’t dictate whether something is a crime or not or someone committed murder or only give someone what they deserved.

If the victim become the perpetrator then they should face the consequences.

Did he time it to come out around this time, was it a lucky coincidence, or was the DA actually moved by the response to it? I mean, a show with that many episodes had to be in development for at least 2-3 years before it premiered, I’d imagine.

It doesn’t seem like that long ago, but hell, it could be 10-15 years by now, but does anybody remember the series they did on them with the dad from The Wonder Years playing their dad? Don’t remember any of the other actors, but tying to remember when it came out and where. Was it pre-streaming?

With Gascon losing in a landslide, their resentencing is now very much in doubt.
