I think if she was going to run away she wouldn't have crossed the whole city to within a block of where she was supposed to meet her dad.

She is still missing and now presumed by the FBI to be abducted.

Orleans Parish sheriff's docket shows that the dad had some brushes with the law over coke, meth, etc., around 1999-2000 (coke possession/dist., meth); and again in 2007 (meth possession). No arrests since then in Orleans, apparently. Doesn't take away the sympathy one has for this crisis -- presuming he wasn't involved. Still, the guy has a host of shady associations, from his rent-a-stripper business to his two kids with a fellow druggie/escort. LINK

Wonder if the daughter decided to move here at the last minute, over the summer before school started, and they were forced to enroll her in that charter school (Einstein Middle, with a "C" rating at EnrollNola.org) in New Orleans East because enrollment deadlines had passed and all the spots at better schools were already taken. Why anyone would take their kid out of presumably better California schools to ship them out to a mediocre school in New Orleans East on a daily basis -- when they live Uptown -- makes no sense, unless the daughter moved here on a last-minute whim. The missing girl's dad has at least three other kids: two (Rebecca and Zack) with a recovering drug-addict escort and another (Sebastian) with an unknown party. The dad apparently fought a custody battled with the former escort over Rebecca, because he once had a GoFundMe account/drive (now disabled online) begging for money to appeal a custody decision.

Update:
LINK

Earlier, I was Facebook sleuthing and found Priscilla's aunt Kat Welty, who acknowledged that she had arrived at her father's work and told someone she was going to walk home. (Tried posting link, but did not work) This is quite contrary to what the dad is saying.

Regarding where they live Uptown, Nola-com says: "Welty, who lives Uptown, said he last saw his daughter when he dropped her off at school."

However, I have read one of the owners of Matassa's grocery in the French Qusrter saying he saw the girl in his story daily and that she lived in the French Quarter, according to Matassa. Maybe he just presumed they did.

REALLY depends on which specific school she went to in California.

Key info from that article:

quote:

Welty, who works in construction, said surveillance video showed Moreci arrived at the St. Philip Street property and knocked on the gate, but Welty said he was at a gas station at that time. He said Moreci has a phone, but she had left it at home that day. She usually got in the gate with a code, but the code had just been changed the previous day, her father said. Welty said he gave his daughter the new code, but it's possible she forgot the combination.

If she met dad at work daily, she probably stopped in there on the regular. If I was 12 and killing a few minutes before dad got free- grabbing a snack right around the corner at matassas would be pretty much a daily thing.

If she immediately went to Decatur and back towards canal it wouldn't be crazy for the goal to be headed to the magazine bus for instance. Or a hotel with free wifi to get a hold of dad.

It's crowded but there are a few back alleys through there that would be easy to snag a kid unnoticed (right next to walgreens, most of those flat lots, etc...)

Yeah, funny how lightning struck -- i.e., kid is kidnapped/disappears -- on the very day that she 1) didn't happen to have her cell phone with her despite maintaining multiple social-media accounts and having a boyfriend back in California; and 2) the code to the gate just happened to have changed the day before and the kid just happened to have forgotten it. Seems like a confluence of anomalies happening all at once leading to her disappearance.

When Moreci was not able to get in the building, Welty said, he thinks she decided to go for a walk. Several people said Moreci was seen "playing drums with some street performers," Welty said. Moreci plays drums at school, he said.

In addition to the locations where the FBI said Moreci was spotted, Welty said he has since received either video or reports that she was seen Thursday night turning onto Dumane Street, walking toward the Mississippi River; walking up to Bourbon Street; and walking in front of Walgreens on Royal Street in the direction of Esplanade.

FBI on Sunday released what the agency said was the most clear recently captured surveillance image of Moreci, taken about 6:51 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Dumaine.

quote:

Welty has worked in the French Quarter for years, he said, and knows many of the people that work there. People who work in restaurants and bars in the Quarter know his daughter and keep an eye on her when she walks to his office, Welty said.

Well both of these caused her to do something she wouldn't do most days. I wouldn't say they are unrelated.

I don't believe that she was abducted. What we need in this case is a guy like Peter Hyatt, a statement analyst. Let him do an interview with those closest to her. And then go from there.
