yeah, the family/attorney just keep changing dates for various events. they also claim they didn't pick the mustang up until thursday, but media have video that proves it wasn't there tuesday when they left and was there when they arrived wednesday morning. lots of backtracking and apparent lying.

I believe you are confusing park Rangers and forest Rangers. Park Rangers generally have posts to certain parks or areas of a park. National forests are operated separately with their own personnel.
I don’t know enough to say they don’t help each other out, but that area would have both and during the summer they’d be busy enough with their own stuff to patrol another area most likely.
The main reason I bring this up is because someone looking to murder someone would have a lot more freedom and a very little chance of someone checking on them in a national forest over a national park.
