But it seems like they haven't had any need for this yet, so I don't know why they'd change a working method. This could be a good backup in case the rains stop them from completing the mission using the current method.
How would that "bend" for the ups and downs in the cave?? Sorry for the lack of technical terms.

Saman Gunan, the Thai Navy Seal that died making sure the kids stuck in the cave had enough oxygen

I'm a cave diver, and periodically dry cave as well. I've wiggled through some fairly tight spots both on scuba and just crawling through with little to no emotion. But that Elon Musk contraption? That scares the ##&t outta me. Would definitely have to be drugged to be stuffed in an underwater coffin.

Is anyone else still amazed that these kids were even found in the first place?

I get the idea about it: not having to worry about their diving skills (or lack thereof), and greatly reduce the chance of a kid freaking out and messing everyone up.
But like someone already said, what they are doing seems to be working anyways. But who's to say the divers who are making this trek wouldn't really appreciate something like this.

Approx. 1.3 feet. Holy balls!!!!!

They actually had a pretty good idea where the kids would likely be. Apparently in the world of cave diving this dive would not be considered tough in normal circumstances.

I'm late to the party, so apologies for a stupid question, but is this the way the boys entered the cave? Doesn't seem super accessible even without the flooding.

I'm not sure if that were discussed either. I would think it's entirely possible that they went a mile or so in and became trapped but the route the divers took and ending up finding them took covered significantly more distance.
ETA: they found their bikes at the entrance so they must have gone in the same way, doesn't mean there aren't multiple interconnected tunnels.

This may sound stupid but maybe it’s a good thing there is zero visibility down there. I can’t imagine feeling so claustrophobic.

Officials forged ahead with the plan to bring the boys and their coach out the way they went in after ruling out an alternative plan of drilling escape holes into the cave from above.

Nope. Unless you have a vivid and positive imagination, zero viz makes it significantly worse.

Elon: "Hey WheninRome, I'm going to need you to bring your kid in so I can size something"..

I was talking about better for the boys not being able to see just how cramp the space was but then again this is coming from my fear and anxiety about the situation.

There is plenty of fun to be had up here above ground, fellas. Y’all ever been to six flags?
Scuba is fun, no doubt about it. I loved being able to make bubble rings under the water while just floating almost upside down.
I was also odd in that I don;t scissor kick like everyone else. for some reason, the easiest way for me to dive is using both legs together, swimming like a mermaid.
Wish i could post a gif of a bubble ring to show you how cool it is underwater.
I hope the boys go on to keep in touch with the diving community and have a chance to see the fun side of what they rescuers do (in clear, shallow, beautiful water).
