Scientists have taken a “very positive step” towards creating a universal vaccine against cancer that makes the body’s immune system attack tumours as if they were a virus, experts have said.
Writing in Nature, an international team of researchers described how they had taken pieces of cancer’s genetic RNA code, put them into tiny nanoparticles of fat and then injected the mixture into the bloodstreams of three patients in the advanced stages of the disease. The patients' immune systems responded by producing "killer" T-cells designed to attack cancer.

ib4 somebody says drug companies have been sitting on this for years so they can profit off cancer

I loathe this kind of thinking. Even if someone thinks drug companies are colluding for profits, people living much longer and getting sick from other sources is more profitable and someone dying from cancer at 60.

People with any form of terminal cancer would disagree.

Hg, your sig quote is great, but you need a semi-colon, baw! It'll read better.
...end punctuation is optional, though, seeing that it is just a sig quote.

People are going to either die from something down the road or live forever and run up medical bills forever. Obviously cancer is profitable, but there are ways to replace that revenue stream.

Oh dear.
I suppose we should all start looking for Dodge Himi engines now. Doesn't quite sound quite so manly though.

Isn't that where shark cartilage as a treatment for cancer came from? I mean I was for it, anyway, because, hey, dead shark, right?

If true, this is one of the greatest medical breakthroughs ever. Bravo

I've googled just about every keyword in that story and the most mainstream news outlet I've found covering it was yahoo. And even the yahoo link went to a local news station Australia.
So is this click bait or actually promising research?

and would they do that to their own relatives, to themselves? I do know people who believe this, so strange

I work in the cancer field. Its not just drugs. Doctors, nurses, therapists, treatment centers, physicists, equipment, scanners, tx machines, etc. We are talking hundreds of billions per year in cancer tx.
