Laid off today after 17 years with same company. Anyone file for unemployment recently in AL and have any tips? How long before you got any benefits?

Thanks

Covid will be gone before you get anything from this state.

I’ve helped dozens of friends and clients file.
I’ve never had an email bounce back from a “full mailbox”. The email address to file is full.

Sometimes takes a dozen faxes to go through.

Good luck. You’ll get unemployment then be back to work in no time. Stay persistent.

So go on down and get yourself a job. Or don't. He don't care...

go to labor.alabama.gov and file a claim.
Unemployment status is based per week. You'll need to make a claim by Friday at 5 for this week. Then you have to update your file every week starting on Sunday

I’m in Shelby county. Was furloughed on March 30th to gage how things would progress with hopes of returning. Nothing has improved and recovery is expected to be very slow. I was informed today I was now officially being laid off but technically April 30 is when everything officially ends, benefits etc... I guess I’d have to wait until then to file.
