Been averaging around 250-270 for several months...survey 1.6mm...rumor California is 1mm alone...I'm setting over/under at 2.9mm...would be much higher except most layoffs happening last two days...over/under?

2.5 MM per senators on the Senate floor.
Crazy numbers.
Crazy numbers.

Whatever you think it is, it'll be higher.
I think it's going to shock a lot of people. Shame on Congress for not passing the relief bill.

April 3rd, when BLS releases the monthly unemployment report, is going to a fricking bloodbath in the markets.

Dow futures don't seem to be optimistic.

I think your number may be in the ballpark. It's going to be ugly. This is pure conjecture, but the main parking lot outside my complex is typically pretty well empty by 8 or 9 am, then is full again around dinner time. I'd say 80% of the vehicles that would typically be gone during the day hours, don't leave the complex now

I'm not shocked. Whole sectors of the economy have shut down. It's unsurprising given we are to isolate because of this extremely contagious pathogen. Good thing is this is likely a once and a lifetime thing.

Only down 38 points at right now
I think next week's IJC will be 5mm...we will see epic collapse of everything

Right, but down 38 with the prospect of the stimulus passing built into that -38. Since more than half of that faded after lunch today.
ETA: and down almost 100 now.

So I heard you can catch it twice.
Apparently China has released this information.
Is this true?

I'd consider it a single event in that case. But I'm not a doctor.

It will be epic, lots of biz have been waiting to furlough employees until they had a plan, lots of layoffs and furloughs coming, and that won’t even be the real number as rumors are biz can take out a SBA loan and all payroll expenses do not have to be repaid

Unless you have cut workers.. personally have heard of 8k layoffs between neighbor and sister's companies...both weren't fired but had pay cuts

I'm not a doctor either but it's a virus. We develop antibodies which are what protect us from repeat infection. That said, we don't know how long those antibodies stay in our system, nor do we know if the current virus will mutate in some way rendering our antibodies useless. This is why the concoction in annual flu shots aren't always the same. They make a calculated guess which strains are most active for a particular year and try to boost your immunity to those strains. If they're wrong, a lot of people get sick regardless of having had a flu shot.
