You think of the tens of thousands of altercations like this one that the police deal with every year that you never hear about because they were handled correctly with skill, training, and professionalism.

It's just a handful each year that make the news because something doesn't go right. It doesn't go right because cops are human and humans aren't perfect all the time.

Criminals should understand that every time they break the law they are running a small risk that their encounter with the police will be one that is not handled perfectly.

But they won't understand it.... because they're dumb arse criminals.

Sorry I am late to this but do we know yet what happened between "Cop shows up" and "Vandal gets killed"?

remember how this car thief died..

LINK

oh thats right he wasn't killed he became a millionaire, a congressman and chairman of the oversight committee - overseeing governmental wrongdoing

just because people are stupid and or commit crimes doesn't mean they should receive the death penalty w/o a trial.

people really need to try and care about the life of others.

Sandra Bland was pulled over because she was trying to get out of the cops way...get the hell out of here with that crap. Tamir Rice aged 12 was shot by a cop because he was playing with a toy gun outside, Darrel Hunt was shot and killed because he was carrying a play sword, John Crawford was killed walking around walmart with a toy gun he picked up in the STORE walking around, Jeremy Lake was killed by the parents of his girl friend (both cops) for walking down the street with his girlfriend. Those are just a few I know right off hand of INNOCENT people.

Pretending there is not a problem and its just criminals and they don't deserve to live is making the situation worse.

I won't get into facts of the case because I am not knowledgeable, but the officer was fired so quickly because he could be. He was a fairly new hire and was on probation. Civil servants on probation can be let go with the swiftness, unlike a more seasoned employee that has certain protection.
Was fired for "breaking police policy" in the shooting. Chief called "shooting" "questionable"

I was at a conference not long ago and a trooper showed statistics that LSP has over 300,000 contacts with the public each year in tickets, wrecks and calls for service. I don't recall ever hearing about some hing with them on the news except for very rare occurances. And they are just one police agency. It's amazing how this victim mindset that the police are all crooked pieces of shite looking to kill someone has been implanted into this next generation.

Cops aren't the fricking judge jury and executioner you half-wits think they should be.

You are very right, but they also have a right to protect themselves from being hurt or killed.

And the ones that do frick up majorly often return to work like nothing happened once everything has settled down. No trial, no jail time, no consequences.

If cops stopped protecting their own it wouldn't be so big of a deal.

A photo that's making the rounds right now on social media.

ETA: two east, Texas police officers with the Trinity Police Department.

This is another false narrative that is very popular. It is even more false that the "hands up, don't shoot" BS.

This is how the real life brotherhood is.

If you get hurt, sick, have some life altering event or if you need back up I will be there for you.

I will not lose my freedom or my pension because you did some dumb shite and now expect me to cover for you.

I also do not expect you to cover for me if I commit a crime in your presence. My job is to make the street safer, not put more people in danger. I will go home after my shift is over, though.

The vast majority of us are good cops. You have your average cops and then you have your dirt bags with a badge. They make our job very hard. I also worked for a department that had very high standards and they weeded out the dirt bags pretty good. Everyone still didn't like us, but this is not a pretty job and it is a ugly job sometimes.
