recovery isnt bad. you will realize how much you use your core for literally every movement.

I've been wondering the same thing. I have an inguinal hernia. Diagnosed 4 years ago. No pain or bathroom problems but the only fix is surgery. There is a big discussion going on these days about the type of procedure and mesh or no mesh repairs. The surgeon I saw took a closer look and said as long as I have no problems or pain its best to just leave it alone.

There is a lot of good info on the hernia talk board.

As far as pain, it was not bad at all. Dr gave me about 20 norco's. Was back at work in 3 weeks.

Good to know.

Luckily, I am a teacher and will have surgery after school ends, so I don't need to be at work, but I will miss and entire summer of golf.

As far as recovery time I would say two months. When I had my surgery I walked a 1/4 mile the next day. I quickly got off the pain meds. And was doing light work around the house. I hope you have a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

friend's dad had one and the incision/stitches site kept getting infected. Took almost 6 months to fully heal.

MIL had it and was good to go a few weeks later

all depends on how your body reacts i guess?
