The other things they can get from their databases.

The law says you have to provide those things to police when asked during a traffic stop. It doesn't require law enforcement to go searching for that information themselves. And no, they can not look up "is this car's insurance current" on their "databases"

Mr. Hill? Do you think this is a court room? And he didn't give the officer a chance to ask for anything else. He rolled his window right back up after he was asked not to.

No shite. So how in the frick do you think they would rule for a simple thing like rolling down your window?

You deflected. Rolling down the windows isn't law. Accept it.

He believes since the law doesn’t outright say “you have to roll down your window” that means you never have to roll down your window even if told

That’s his argument

ETA: perfectly summed up with the post above

Here's a screen grab from the body cam. You can clearly see him handing over his DL. That's all the cop asked for.

To lazy and a bad of a speller to spell Tyreek every time.

To be perfectly fair, there’s probably 6 different ways you can spell that name

rolling down your windows enough to reasonably communicate with officers during a lawful traffic stop is. If you refuse to do so, they can then just ask you to exit the vehicle, which is also a lawful order. Hill chose to be an a-hole for no reason and found himself on the pavement. What exactly was the purpose of him rolling his window back up after the officer asked him not to (this right after he yelled at the officer for knocking on his window to roll it down)

So you think that’s legal?

Well that would be murder so wouldn't we think that would be illegal?

oh. I like this.

“Wouldn’t rolling down your window be a lawful order?”

See how this works?

You don't have to communicate. You have the right to remain silent. Present your ID or hand it to the officer. I do agree that if you're asked to exit you must.

So being legally being an a-hole gives police the right to put you on the ground in the manner they did on video? I'm sure if it happened to you, you might feel different.

It's Miami. It's hot. Maybe he just wanted to sit in the AC. As a lawyer, does he need a reason?

sure you do, and they then have the right to escalate the situation (as they did)

The manner in which they did? He was being defiant and combative from the minute their interaction began. They removed him from the car, put him on his chest, placed him in handcuffs, and sat him on a curb....and released him 15 minutes later. The horror.

I wouldn't have acted like an entitled a-hole when pulled over for speeding. Most of us on here have been involved in a traffic stop before. And most of us on here understand how the drill works. Tyreek is apparently too much of a dumbass to know how to get through such a dreadful 10 minute interaction unscathed.
