No such thing.

They are rail guns.

Those don't look like box cars...more like containers.

One train leaves Dallas traveling West at 85 mph, as another leaves Taos, NM traveling East at 90 mph. Which one arrives... shite, we should have used separate tracks.

Well done

They aren't box cars, the media don't know their butt from a hole in the ground..we call them stack trains or intermodal trains...

Lots of long trains parked on tracks in that area. You would think they would not be colliding with each other in this day and age.

Both trains on main line. One was just exiting on a siding when it was hit. The train that wasn't exiting still on the main line would have ran past a flashing yellow, yellow and a red signal. PTC (positive train control ) would have prevented this as the train would have automatically shut down after running through the yellow signals. All RR will be required to have this by 2018-2020

Hmm..How do you know one was exiting? I heard one was still and the other hit at 60mph ...also, ptc is crap..yes railroads are already implementing it and already asked for an extension because they are trying to figure out how to make it work correctly..from what I heard, still a lot of bugs in the system..I won't trust a computer to stop me that's for sure.

Yep...I'm a train geek. With a quick glance, I can tell you if you are driving an AC4400, SD-70/80/90 or a Dash8/9 or an old GP-60 or SD-40/45.

Saw some old KCS E-9's in Southern Belle a few weeks ago crossing over I-10 in NOLA--a real beauty!

If one was still they both ppl would have jumped out of the still train as the other train was approaching.
