Iran is denying but also said they rescued all of the sailors on the ships when in fact the US Bainbridge and a Korean military vessel rescued them. Iran was also the first to report the attack so there is that as well.

The only restrictions I am aware of from the major Classification Societies are Iran and North Korea barred from ABS due to economic sanctions and this is something I would absolutely know about.
I dont think US Flagged vessels can be classed anything other than ABS..maybe I'm wrong but I've never seen it

First, not going to happen unless the situation REALLY changes.
Second, using first-strike nuclear weapons especially against a non-nuclear state would cause a global meltdown in diplomacy. It is possible to go down the "they have WMD's" road but it is tenuous based on the intel made public so far.
Third command and control strikes don't need the type of yield tac nukes have. It is bringing a machete when a xacto knife will do the job fine without the collateral damage.
