Pretty good statement from the company. Just a good account of what happened and assigned blame to both parties..

Then spoke on how much fun everyone had together when it calmed down.

Good statement. No sugar coating and no trying to cover anything up.
Looks like the company deleted said statement from their FB page when the owner posted the video saying the captain had been fired.

Why share this on social media? Unless the father shared it with the business and was not satisfied with their response, there is no reason to do this. The video does not provide context of what happened before and that will always be unknown because the captain and customers will likely have different stories of what happened. But seriously, this should have been handled internally with the owners of the business. I'm tired of this thing where we take a video of someone for 20 seconds of their life where they lost their cool, and then put it on the internet to ruin the person's life, as if that moment defines them.

Big brother is real, and it is us.

as long as you're hooked to rig, anchored out or have your

Paying for a rig the captain dropped overboard is standard?

Well shite, he should have just tossed all the rigs! Could have headed back in early with a pocket full of cash.

Even if a customer dropped it, is flying off the rails and screaming at your customers standard practice after losing said rig?

the only time I've ever seen an engine shut down while fishing offshore is with individual boat owners with multiple outboards that would alternate trolling with one engine at a time, with diesels, never

ETA: bottom fishing is different

You didn’t say HE dropped, you said he was flying all over and a rig went overboard.

Sure, you shouldn’t pay for it if HE dropped it. Cheers

No, I didn’t say anything about his attitude or what he did. That’s not ok.

maybe if you are trash fishing the first set of rigs out of Grand Isle and can still see land. In blue water the engines stay on full time unless some jackass like the dad on the charter gets his line tangled up in the props.

Just watched the reply from Two Conchs. Didn't realize they were trolling and the motor was in gear. Now how many times while your trolling you leave the motor in gear while you go back to the stern? I don't do it with my 9.9, much less a 350. I assumed they leave the motor on even if they are casting, but not in gear. I blame the dick Capt.

I'm not excusing his behavior. Like I said, I think it is fair to share this with the business owner and let them handle it.

Bro, you don’t treat clients that way unless something extremely egregious happened, and even then the response from non-trash people would be to end the charter.

The professional and mature approach would have been "OK guys, reel your lines up. We are done for the day and heading back in."

That would have been enough.

He’s just a very odd and colorful guy. Yells a good bit.

One trip we were out, my cousin had a tuna on the line, he walked up behind him grabbed his waders at the straps and ripped them down past his arse destroying them. My cousin thought I did it at first, I was in shock. Weird scene.

Completely ignores women on the boat until they try to pee.

Not very respectable of the water for someone who makes their living on it.
