They absolutely have a choice to change jobs. Visa holders matriculate very freely in several industries.
Many companies are ready to sponsor former big tech employees right now. It's pretty degrading to assume these people are basically prisoners.

They don't have to go to Facebook. Thousands of companies need those skills and are definitely not laying off their dev team.

Facebook isn't the only company doing layoffs. Bottomline is they have 60 days or its over. If I were on a work visa, I'd stay put. Don't see why this is an argument.

Almost all of the cuts at tech companies are sales, HR/diversity, product marketing managers, marketing, and account/customer service managers.
Very few dev and business intelligence layoffs unless you were an underperformed and got lumped in
