I got a new TWIC last year at IdentiGo and was amazed at how much easier it is now. I made an appointment online. Got to the place and was immediately brought to a cubicle to sign the paperwork. They gave me a receipt and said it would be in the mail. I was so shocked at the simplicity of the process that I was sure they screwed something up.
And then it only took about a week for my new card to show up in the mail.

A lot of plants are moving past TWIC. Most are going to formal background checks since TWIC doesn't really capture anything but federal offenses. Plus, hair follicle drug screens.

Do you mean adding requirements on top of TWIC, or replacing it?
I thought that TWIC was federally mandated for maritime facilities?

Just got mine done in Lafayette. $125.50 and walked in without an appointment and took about 15 minutes from start to finish.

Thanks I need to get this done soon. The Lafayette office still on Johnston near the Ridge road intersection? It was over 5 years ago that I first got a twic card
Edit: I found it. It has moved to the Albertsons shopping center near amb caffery and kaliste saloom.

I worked in Marathon Garyville last year and I am almost 100% they didn't even ask for TWIC. You had to get background checked through I think the River Parish Safety Council and pass the hair follicle. Pretty sure their Texas City facility is the same way. It may be in addition too but I don't think it is, I think it replaced it.
