Those all looked like perfectly respectable and well-spoken people. Good for that dude for standing up for his friends.

You stand up for your friends by confronting the guy directly and telling him he was wrong. You don't post shite on FB.

No worries. Start offering $1 strawberry daiquiris and all will be forgiven.

For blacks and whites to get along very well, like in most southern towns. The northerner was the one who apparently had an issue with blacks people.

Again, it was a Northern yankee transplant who allegedly made the comment and a Southern redneck who took offense. Not sure how that jives with your stereotype but swing away champ.

I have no problem with this man's free speech rights. When it bothers them that bad, they will quit using it on each other.
It usually doesn’t mean the same thing when they say it.

I don’t give a shite about the word and often think it’s dumb to get worked up over it.

But it’s not cool to be mean for no reason like this. And using the word in this instance just shows the owner is a really shitty person.

There’s zero reason to stick up for this particular guy.

He wasn’t very cool on this occasion. Bringing racism to a town isn’t cool these days.

the guy who tossed out the hard R is from Pennsylvania.

Now it makes sense. Stupid Yankee probably bought into the southern stereotype and either was trying to “fit in” or was genuinely shocked a white Alabama man would sit with a black family and made a snarky comment.

Northerners are assholes. Guy from NYC just moved here and apparently made an arse of himself at the academy to one of the teachers. That teachers father caught him in the road the next day and told him if he talked like that to his daughter again he was gonna ship his arse back to New York in a fricking pine box

It tracks. Pennsylvania is my home state and there are a bunch of racist assholes up there. Pittsburgh is home but it's racist as frick.

Nope. Quite the opposite. If people wanna be dicks and use the N-word that's their right. Racism exists(though not as much as the media would have you believe ) and I really don't care but the poster I was responding to was a classic case of doth protest too much.

Pretty idiotic thing to say to a customer. Reminds me of the time my cousin's husband, an assistant coach at one of the local high schools where the head coach was black, was at one of the local farm supply stores. Had the back of a pickup loaded with stuff.

Store owner: "You work for that n----:?

Coach: "Yeah........ you know, I don't really need all this. Unload it".

Only an idiot would believe this is 100% how this went down. If I had to guess, the "birthday crew" was being loud, causing a scene, being rude to staff, not tipping and owner had enough

The one thing they had going for them is that it wasn't real expensive. For my money the best steak in the area is at Big Mike's in Moundville.

I can grab a choice ribeye from Aldi and grill a significantly better steak than Nicks or Big Mikes.
