It's impressive that that DA bailed out on a $250K bail. I thought DA's maybe make $70K.

Some places have laws that bails over 100k have some sort of % minimum to be paid for bail. Dunno if Alabama does. He also could have remortgaged or something

If he's a private defense attorney and any good he will make a lot more than 70K. Assistant District Attorney's make about 70K up to 90ish depending on the size of the office where I'm from. Public Defenders make nothing though. And in MS at least, you only have to post 10% of the bail (through a bail bondsman) in cash to bond out. You have to post the total bail if you are using collateral such as a house.
