re: Tundra owners: how much did you pay for your tundra vs MSRP?

I know everyone here pays cash for their trucks, but think about this:
1) You can purchase a Toyota with relatively minuscule rebates, and look forward to a higher resale value.
2) Or, you can buy a domestic truck with huge discounts and lower resale.
With scenario #1, you will be paying interest on the difference between the price of the domestic and your Toyota for the life of the loan.
In all likelihood, this makes the whole resale argument a wash.
Which leads to this fact: All trucks are excellent these days. These trucks pay the bills for these companies. They are dumping billions into their full size trucks because they cannot afford to make a bad truck. Days of denigrating one vs. the other are over. But I guess if you find it fun to do so, then carry on...

like so far Houston is about 3k below local BR prices. I’d like to keep it local if I can but shoot 3k is worth the drive.
Watch it, Houston doesn't let LSU grads back into LA.
I bought my first Tundra from Fred Hass Toyota in January 2014 right after the new body style came out. They gave me $2K off MSRP because it was a Texas Edition Tundra. I bought my second Tundra used from Yokem in Shreveport.

To me the answer to this is are you going to keep it for years or are you going to flip frequently. If flipping, get the domestic and take the huge discount, if keeping, take the smaller discount and buy the reliable long term proven truck.

How often do people trade in their Tundras? People buy Toyota for their reliability and longevity, but seem to trade them in pretty quick.
Does resale really matter when you are paying a premium price for Toyota every 3-4 years?
Update: I just read that TSmith said the same thing and in a better way.
