Played at my wedding reception in the Blue Room in 2001
We discovered her and her band playing in Jackson Square in front of the Cathedral in 2000 and asked her to play at our wedding.
So a street entertainer sang at your wedding reception? I'm not even attempting to throw shade on that. It's a actually pretty damn unique and I like it. Can I be nosey and ask how much it cost to have her sing at the event? I wouldn't imagine that it would cost much to get them off the street and into an climate controlled ballroom with guaranteed $$$.

She’s not just a street entertainer but her and her band are legit. You can Google her and find out more info.
This was in 2001 and, yes my wife and I ran across her and her band one afternoon and my wife met her and they actually became friends and we asked her and her crew to play at our wedding. It was amazing
I don’t know how much we paid but I’ll ask my wife and get back to you on that
Check her out

I need to shower after looking at pictures of that festering cesspool.

Friend,
My favourite street is also Royal St. In this haven of creativity and culture, time seems to stand still, and worries melt away. Royal Street becomes more than just a thoroughfare; it transforms into a cherished memory, a place where the heart finds solace and inspiration. Each visit unveils something new, something magical, making it my most treasured street in the world—a true gem among urban landscapes.

Ok, so she's 100% a trained and established musician. I was thinking this was just someone performing in front of those concrete steps outside Jackson Square. Still, very cool.

At the time we met her, that’s what we thought. We had no idea who she was. We just hired her and then found out who she was after the fact
It’s a pretty cool story. We kept in touch with for a while but with Katrina and Covid we’ve lost track of her.

So, do you ask ChatGPT to write for you in the style of "A Confederacy of Dunces" book? Your versions truly are an amateurish attempt, at best.
ChatGPT wishes it could string together a harmonic string of visual pleasantries like TulaneLSU.

No trip to Royal Street is complete
Friend, one wonders: is it ever?
Sometime during my early single-digit years my family may or may not have been housed on the second floor of the courtyard of 621 Royal Street.
Every decade or so I will revisit that address to refresh my few faint synapses of that time. Windows that looked over the back of the Court of Two Sisters. Forbidden circular stairwells near the entrance that led down to imagined terrors of a sub-ground level. Scary crowds from when Mardi Gras parades still passed through the Quarters.
And the smells...
To this day I still walk Royal Street in my dreams.

This is an all time TulaneLSU column.
Might be my favorite.

Some of your best work imo
No doubt, this is easily top 5.
This is up there with the Christmas book unveiling.
The prose in this column was particularly magnificent, it wove a tapestry of details that had us all feel like we were there as well.

TulaneLSU,
I don’t know what your intentions, expectations and perceptions regarding your contributions here, so let me be one to say: it isn’t just words, and it isn’t just entertainment, it’s a way and style of looking at things, especially simple things, more deeply and processing the ideas into words that are pleasant and interesting to read.
And it even often makes readers/responders do the same thing. Quite contagious.
Anyway, thanks for the contributions.
