I can remember going to William's snoballs. We lived near Newman high school and I could tell my sisters how to get there by car.. I must have been about 5 or 6. We had an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser. I would always get strawberry on the cardboard tray. Plenty of napkins because I would always spill it..

Friend,

I was bearing down on the sixth page of this soliloquy, at which time it came to my attention that your musings on the calendar approaching the end of summer, along with your mention of Front Day had me rather perplexed. It was then I realized two and perhaps three, items of consequence. One, the subject matter you have meticulously expounded upon was not of recent vintage but rather it was compiled 3 years ago. Oh my, how tickled I was at my self for this faux pas. And two, I am approaching at a steady rate a rather exquisite level of intoxication and perhaps it is due to that that I forget my third point. And now we are each left to ponder if there ever was one.

Regards and salutations to Mother, and let us not mention to her my quest to acquire a view of the bottom of this bottle of Tanqueray, less her opinion of me falter in the slightest.

Yours,
B. Blanco

I used to ride my bicycle to Ro-Bears from my grandmothers house.

Nectar cream was my flavor.

This was after selling a wagon of pears for my grandmother on Jefferson Highway. I could sell some pears.

Thank You for the effort that you put in. Does Chicken let you turn in receipts for 1000 snowballs?

I really enjoyed reading this. A couple of questions and comments, was your great grandfather really only 10 years old in 1930? If that’s the case, that would put you born somewhere in the 1980s at the earliest. I expected you to be a little older than that. Was the original Erath syrup any relation to the town or founder of Town of Erath? I moved to Baton Rouge in 1995. I’ve not seen one “snow cone” here, and I have to say, a few of the stands are fantastic! They’ve really come along way in the past 20 or so years. You should give it another try. Thanks for the read. It was excellent.

Incredible post. Too good for Tigerdroppings. Have you considered submitting it to a magazine or newspaper?
