Diversity would reflect numbers in keeping with national figures.
That is not diversity at all.
Your "diversity" would have 65% white, 12% black, 12% Latino, 5% Asian and 9% everybody else.
I think they are wanting to get to 20% in each of those categories.

Meanwhile, they're probably going to make room for this by dropping the math requirement just to make sure their degrees are extra useless.

That alone would keep me from paying for my kid's tuition there. If he or she still wanted to go, fine, but he or she better have a way to pay for it.

Don't worry, I doubt you will ever be on the hook for more than a state college.

The hell it isn’t diversity.
You think a nation with 65% white should have only 20% of their population being represented in college, and another group with say 5% having 20% of their population represented in college is fricking diversity? That’s some crazy arse logic you have there Rouge. You’re simply fricking white people and rewarding other groups simply because the color of their skin. And the best part is you fricking call it “Diveristy”.

The government should step in and tell a private university how to run its business?

I'd happily send my kids to UVA or UT.

Top definition of diversity is "the state of being diverse; variety"
Top definition of variety is "the absence of uniformity, sameness, or monotony"

Yet you complain about a diversity class

Nobody is calling for an all white school here Rouge. I know what diversity means, and it’s in keeping with population numbers, and so I expect to see those numbers naturally occurring in school enrollments who call themselves diverse, and not preferential to one sub group of people. I certainly do not see diversity in elevating enrollment numbers amongst certain minority groups of people as if this country was evenly split in population figures, and calling it being diverse. If the numbers were evenly split, then it would make sense to have enrollment figures that were evenly split amongst groups of people.
What you’re suggesting they’re going for, is simply racial preferences, not diversity.

What if they awarded the spots to the most qualified?

Meritocracy is not allowed in these regimes unless it happens to coincide with their diversity mission

In my mind, ideal. In today’s mentality, I feel pretty sure that is somehow racist, and if not, then it certainly doesnt serve the great agenda of social engineering this country to affect some change they think is beneficial to society, and serves it’s greater purpose. You know, because frick the needs of the individual when you have the needs of the many..... I wonder where that came from..... HMMMMM.....

Mandating the study of diversity is absolutely insane and I would never want my kids to have to study it. Even if some assholes harrassed some black kids. It's more understandable given the situation, but it's still not the way an institution of higher learning should be run. If you think the kids who did the harassing require some form of class, ok. But to mandate the entire entering class do so is pandering at the highest level.

Strange place to draw a line in the sand. Especially if your kid knew this and wanted to go there anyway.

Well, let's not pretend these diversity classes are backed by any legitimate science or data. They're basically political doctrine cooked up by radical social justice university staff, peer reviewed by others of the same persuasion, then paraded around as science and truth.
