I've been told that you would be absolutely amazed at the amount of deadly diseases/viruses that they test at the Tulane Primate Center. The security there is extremely tight and I really don't think it's that way to keep the primates from escaping.

Let's hope they've improved on their "sloppy lab practices" in 2015. Anybody remember this?
quote:USA Today article from 2015
Sloppy biosafety practices and contaminated worker clothing are the likely ways dangerous bioterror bacteria got out of a high-security lab in Louisiana, according to federal findings released Friday. At least eight monkeys, and possibly a person, were exposed to the bacteria that somehow got outside the lab at the Tulane National Primate Research Center about 35 miles north of New Orleans.

Until you and six kids you barely know, in wet bathing suits, have surrounded 9 chimpanzees around a Wendys....you probably really don't know yourself....

Oh, the stupid people who didn't realize they lived near a BSL3 lab before should get all up in arms about this. I'd be willing to bet there are far nastier things already lurking around Covington.
And I'm not talking about Covingtonians.
