I dont know about every month, but I was tent camping in the Florida Keys in February of '98 and experienced what was called the "unhurricane". Hurricane force winds and torrential rains, but couldn't be a hurricane because it was in February.

Australia gets "cyclones" every year during their summertime, usually on the western and northern coasts, although some have gone in through northern Queensland. They can pack a pretty powerful punch, too.
