You have little-to-no recourse on the side of the road. The little recourse you do have is knowing the law, as it pertains to you AND the officer. Far too few people have a basic understanding of the law and their rights. However, once you act an arse, what you know does not matter.
If you are right, and you have educated yourself and know that you are right, take the ticket and head to court. Same goes if you are being arrested. Resisting will only get you more charges that will 100% hold up in court. Take it to court, and fight it there. Don't risk your life just to be an a-hole.
