I have a couple pecan trees next to my house with some questionable looking branches. Can anyone refer a good tree service to trim these things up? What can I expect as far as costs? Don't say treefity

Thanks

From experience, I know Biggz Tree Service and Bowfinger do solid work. I think they work mostly in BR

Zeff with Biggz Tree Care. 225-205-0706

They are one of the top tree care companies in BR. Highest rated tree company on angie's list. And generally about 20-30% less than others. I would get a few bids. Biggz, Bayou, and another.

CP3 plugs Bayou and i plug Biggz. There is a bit of cost difference between the two, but Bayou is a solid company and so is biggz. Both do great work. Dave and John are good dudes. Bofinger's does great work as well, but they are almost double every other company.

If you can't get Ted Harbourt then Pokey Herring out of Walker does great work also.

I'll tell you this fair warning about all tree guys. They're all fricking hard to get on the phone unless it's one of the big operations running a dozen trucks. Ted, Pokey and even Biggz I've had problems getting them all on the phone. Because you usually only need them after some event like this flood where everything is a mess and they're most busy. So leave messages.

The wealth of tree maintenance knowledge on this board is astounding. Thanks for the help! I think I'm set now.

I just called LeBlanc's to get an estimate on a tree near my house. I'll let you know what they come back with.

Precision pruned my live oaks and did a shitty job, they only trimmed the lower branches and didn't touch anything outside of about 15 feet from the trunks.
Marathon is supposed to be good I could not get him to do the damn work. I literally waited on him for 8 weeks, he was always doing something else and stopped returning my phone calls.
I won't use Bofingers or Bayou for reasons I won't disclose here but would not recommend them if they were the only tree service in the state.
Good luck finding a decent tree service, it's just a shady business.

That was my issue with Marathon as well but it certainly wasn't unique to them. Started using Pokey Herring because he is more reliable to answer calls or return calls. I noticed that most of these guys run their business off their cell phone.

The bigger services always want twice the money. When we're talking about $4,000 vs $2,00 on some of these jobs it was worth it to me to keep working the phone until I got them out.

Just got my estimate from Leblanc's for one tree with fairly easy access... $2700 not counting stump grinding. Yea, F that.
