I am waiting on a guy to call me back with an estimate. I just sent him pictures and explained the size of the tree/trees over the phone. I have a feeling I ain't going to hear from this jack leg.

Just went through this and had to get several estimates. If in BR, Ricky Vincent was by far the best priced.

GOLFER with Live Oak issues
It is possible to prune the root "ball" which may alleviate the drajnage and pavement problems while keeping the tree FWIW

First talk to some of the more competent real estate appraisers in your area about the value of the oaks.
As a friend said about the home her daughter bought in South Carolina:" The house wasn't much, but the Live Oak was what made the property special and expensive."

Is it close to power/utility lines? If so call the power co. and have them remove it. Had three taken down for free. But it was a main line though. Its better to take down than to come back every so often to prune.

Had a 50' willow oak about 10' from the house cut down, stump grinded, and hauled away this past Wednesday for under $1000.

I had a few taken out today.
Biggest was 15" diameter.
24' tallest.
One nearly hit a window, and the smallest branches at top scraped house. No marks.
Made a few trips to haul all way in his dodge ram.
Kept some for firewood for his mom.
No insurance.
Jeb and chainsaw.
$500 and a lunch and coca cola
Look into selling the wood if you have a big one. I live in forested area and you can sell a 60 or 100 footer to a mill.

Yah but I’d be removing at least 1/4 to 1/3 of the root system of each tree.
The one next to the driveway is literally on the driveway. The trunk is in the swing path of a car door if you opened it there. And the other one is holding 4-6” of water back along the foundation of the house.

I had a big oak cut down because it was dead. Cost me $2000 plus 150 to grind stump because the tree company didn't grind the stumps but knew someone who did. Mine was easy to get to and that was the cheapest of three quotes. In cenla area if it even matters
