Oh Look. Reason 1456765 why not to spend money on a visit/vacation to a crime-ridden shithole.

Nice. Only 12,000,000 people disagree with you.

Please don't come. The quarter is already full of trashy dudes in jean shorts, sleeveless shirts walking around with their fat wives.
The city will be okay without the tax revenue from the 6 hand grenades you enjoy drinking.

There's that Nola-loyalist hubris that is so reliable. Word is getting out I assure you. There are a LOT of safer places to have that company convention where stray bullets aren't flying outside your hotel room . Just because they come now doesn't mean they have to come forever. At some point, people make the calculation it's not worth the effort. Seattle, Portland, San Diego, Nashville, Orlando, Jacksonville, Denver and 20 other spots are all pretty nice, and without the mayhem and smell of death in the air.

Well at least the dirtiest part of bourbon will be the cleanest

NOLA people are the most defensive people on this board. It cracks me up when they act like they live in Monaco.

Lol. Jean shorts and ugly wives . Classic psychological projection.
Nola is for poors. I'm more of a luxury traveler. And people who defend that failed shithole are like abused wives, you get beaten down enough, you start to think it's normal. There's nothing normal about Nola, it's a failed cesspool of social pathologies- you pick anything that rots a city from the inside out - and your crusty a-hole of a city is overflowing with it.
I don't blame you if you have roots and a career and want/have to live there . But spare me the idea that it's responsible at this point to have your Aunt from Austin or that Insurance Convention from Omaha in to town for the week. It just ain't what it used to be and you know that 15 minutes after you get there. It smells like arse and that might be the high point.

Spoken like a person that has never seen any other part of New Orleans besides Bourbon St and Pat O's.
You should try and broaden your horizons kiddo.

I don't know shite about infrastructure construction but I knew that this was going to be a cluster. When I heard they were digging up Bourbon I knew they were going down a worm hole. I can only imagine the old layers of streets, decay of the piping and historical shite they will find that will slow the work
